This week brought some amazing experiences, as well as its challenges and struggles. The life of the mission haha!
First off, we had a pretty relaxed pday. We went and got ice cream, so it was a pretty tranquilo day.
So last week, I mentioned that Analia was trying to stop smoking. We went by her house to present the ¨stop smoking plan¨ that I have, and she committed to live it.
When we showed up, she told us that she had a huge headache from not smoking, but she said she would do it. She hasn't smoked for 9 days now! And, she said that she has no desire or temptation to do it. The headache went away as well! It is incredible! The Lord works miracles!
This week, we also did exchanges with the zone leaders again, and we got to do the most disgusting service I have ever done. We got to clean out the grossest Acequia I have ever seen. Buckets, shovels, etc. It was nasty.
Anyways, the MIRACLE OF THE WEEK!
We went to Elias and Flavia´s house on Thursday, and we started talking about their wedding. They looked at us, and said that they wanted to talk to us about that. Not a fun thing to hear. They then explained that they had thought that their wedding was going to be just by the church and not by the government. They said that there is no way that they are prepared and they cannot support an official family financially. It was a hard hit.
By a miracle, we had happened to bring an ex-missionary with us, who just got married 8 months ago. We had NO idea what to do, or say, but the spirit guided us and the lesson ended well, but kinda on a cliff hanger. At the end, I shared Moroni 10, and talked about a sincere heart, and invited them to pray, with a sincere heart, whether or not they should be married.
Well, fast forward one day. We went over to their house, and we had prepared a bomb lesson to help them accept the marriage thing.
Well, as we were about to give the opening prayer, Elias asked us to pray that ¨Elias will be able to complete his objective.¨ Super duper vague. Anyways, after the prayer, I asked him what his ¨objective¨ was.
He explained that the night before he was thinking about having a sincere heart, so he decided to ask God. He told us that he prayed, and that night he had a dream that they got married, and in the dream it explained how he had to prepare to be married, and they are now going to build their own house!!! They want to be married in two weeks! I get to plan a wedding! I need revelation haha. It was incredible, and just put me in tears afterwards. I dont know if I have felt so much joy in my whole mission.
Then, Elias and Flavia came with us to see a baptism, and they told us that they loved it. It was so good!
Finally, we got transfer calls last night! I am staying here, and I will train! I am excited!
Funny
We were doing service, and some kids came over to ask us where we were from. The zone leader told the kid that I dont speak spanish, and that he is my translator. I then started making click noises. and he ¨translated for me.¨ The kids were amazed haha.
We were walking in the street, and a dog put its head through the bars, which they do to bite us. As I walked by, I smacked it in the face with my planner. It freaked out ahhaha..
The Lord lives and he loves it. The Mighty Change of heart is REAL! It has been amazing to see the amazing change in Elias and Flavia!
